Day 1

Today was the day I began.

After consulting ChatGPT, I wrote down 5 simple steps to begin building Lucy’s Creations. I’d tried it time and time again but have always struggled with motivation, and actually putting in hours of my life to something that “might not work” seemed really daunting.

I want to start this Day 1 blog by letting whoever may be reading this, that this blog will simply be me, Lucy, journalling my journey to build Lucy’s Creations.

It’s always been a little fun thing I did on the side. And creating card and documents for all of my daily needs (and the needs of my friends) was always something that’s brought me joy. And that’s what I wanted to focus on.

My Mission

They always say to have a mission. Something that drives you to do what you do. After much consideration, a mind map and plenty of scribbles, I settled on:

“To make the merch we deserve.”

I am a nerd, a crafter, a cat lover and avid musical blaster. And what I found across a lot of these loves of mine, is that the merchandise didn’t quite scratch my itch. I want something cute, something soft. And that’s why I say we. It’s for me. It’s for you.

Day 1

Today’s tasks included everything but designing.

• Creating a business bank account.

• Registering as a sole trader.

• Building a brand and a website.

Three big, very scary jobs. Not only does the website registration cost money for the domain and the website services, but the content required to put a website live is…. more than I anticipated.

This has given me a hard start. A launch. And if you’ve made it this far into my website - thank you. You’re at the start of what will be an amazing journey.
